I used to read them as a kid. Long ago they lost all appeal to me - jingoistic immature crap for immature people. Then I heard that they're now getting a bit better, but I couldn't find any way of confirming that.
I'm 44 and I still read the odd one every now and then, which I still enjoy. I am actually rather immature in many ways just ask my family and this no doubt helps. They are definitely targeted at a young ish and predominately male audience.
